FOUNDER
Amit Sarin
Born in Varanasi, India, Amit Sarin left his hometown to earn his engineering degree at the Manipal Institute of Technology, on India’s southwest coast. Shortly after graduation, however, Sarin headed to Mumbai to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. His big break came in 2003, when he was cast in Balaji Telefilms’ popular series “Kksum,” for which he received his first prestigious Aap Jaisa Koi Award as Best Actor.
He was next cast in “Kyunki… Saas bhi kabhi bahu thi…,” the groundbreaking comedy series and one of Indian television’s longest-running shows. Sarin starred as Sahil Hemant Virani in nearly 400 episodes of the hit series, and went on to star in numerous other hit television series, including “Dole Saja Ke,” “Pavitra Rishta” and “Rishon Ki For,” among others. He was selected to compete on India’s first celebrity singing competition – “Fame Gurukul” – and was crowned the winner. He was also a contestant on India’s celebrity version of “Fear Factor,” as well as “Zor Ja Jhatka,” India’s version of “Wipeout.” Sarin co-starred in the action/thriller feature film “Inteqam: The Perfect Game.”
Sarin co-founded NY Studios in 2009 with his wife, Vineesha Arora Sarin.
